About This File
Use this program to determine a pitcher’s ratings.
Explanation
Don’t randomize pitch data: If you know what types of pitches a pitcher throws, check this checkbox. Unchecking this checkbox will randomize the pitches and their velocities.
Estimate pitch velocity: If this checkbox is checked, the calculator will attempt to estimate the pitcher’s pitch velocity for each pitch.
Position: Choose the pitcher’s position: Starting Pitcher, Relief Pitcher, or Spot‐Starter.
Level: Choose the level the pitcher pitches at: MLB, AAA, AA, or A.
Stamina Type: Choose the type of stamina formula used: The default formula EA Sports used, or a more accurate formula. The Accurate formula prevents pitchers from pitching too many innings, (example: 71GP/0GS/0CG/71.2IP = 14 Stamina rating).
Note: The Accurate formula is the same for every level!
Statistics: Enter the pitcher’s pitching statistics in the corresponding field.
GP: Games
GS: Games started
CG: Complete Games
IP: Innings Pitched
HR: Homeruns given up.
BB: Walks
SO: Strikeouts
ERA: Earned-run average.
Note: Enter 1/3of an inning pitched as .3, and 2/3 of an inning pitched as .7
For example: 233 and 2/3 as 233.7.
Note: In previous versions of my calculator, the calculator had to sort the pitches from best to worse. In version 7.14, that changed! The calculator will automatically sort your pitches, based on settings in MVP Baseball 2005.
Pitch Ratings: This is where the pitches are assigned, as well as determining the pitch movement, control, velocity, and suggested trajectory.
Note: If a pitcher has less than five pitches in their repertoire, that’s ok! Just select the “None” option, and the ratings will reflect it.
Calculate: Press this button to calculate the pitcher’s ratings.
Stamina: When the “Calculate” button is pressed, the pitcher’s stamina rating is calculated.
Reset: Reset the calculator to the default values.
Import/Export NEW!: After generating inputPitching.csv with the inputPitching Generator, you can press this button to generate mass pitching ratings!
